Black-headed Grosbeak
  Pheucticus melanocephalus

* Male shares about equally in incubating eggs. Female sings nearly like the male.

* Song is melodious and sounds somewhat like a Robin’s.

* Locally present in riparian and open Gambel Oak woodlands. Nest is built in tree or shrub.

* Large thick bills allows it to feed on hard-bodied insects and large seeds.
