Rough-winged Swallow
  Stelgidopteryx serripennis

* One of many swallows that occupy Draper.

* Nests in cavities in vertical dirt banks and in human structures.

* Edge of wing feels like a file due to small hooked barbs, the purpose of which is unknown.

* Apparently more common in Corner Canyon than other swallows due to a lack of structures that Barn and Cliff Swallows prefer for nesting.

* Plummage rather drab. Superficially resembles the smaller Bank Swallow.

* Does not nest in large colonies as do other swallows.
