Wild Turkey
  Meleagris gallopavo intermedia

* Prefer cottonwood river bottoms with associated oak-pine and pinyon-juniper woodlands with scattered openings.

* Feed on acorns, seeds, fruits, insects, buds.

* Need tall cottonwoods or other trees to roost in at night.

* Several subspecies are established in Utah, such as the Miriam's and the Rio Grande. Each prefers a different habitat. The Rio Grande is established in areas of the Wasatch Mountains.
