Yellow Salsify
  Tragopogon dubius

* Introduced from Europe as a food plant (roots are edible and are said to taste like oysters). Purple-flowered species said to be more edible.

* Yellow flowers, open in morning, fade by noon.

* Very showy seed heads like dandelions, but much larger.
