Bank Swallow
  Riparia riparia

* Similar to the drab color of the Rough-winged swallow except throat patch is white and has a distinct dark breast band.

* Nests in cavities in vertical dirt banks. A good site to view such nests is in the steep dirt bank just south of 12300 South on the west side of the Jordan River where it is cutting into the hillside. If this hillside is ever cut back to increase its stability it would remove a nesting habitat for these delightfully different swallows.
