Mourning Dove
  Zenaida macroura

* One of the ten most abundant birds in the United States.

* It’s call is a mellow mournful call.

* Male sits on eggs during morning and afternoon. Female incubates eggs through evening and night.

* Doves are able to drink water without raising their heads.

* Wings make whistling sound.

* Can be easily distinguished form other doves by its long pointed tail.
