Gambel Oak
  Quercus gambelii

* Native drought tolerant tree of the Wasatch front foothills and canyons.

* Grows in dense impenetrable thickets but can become a stout spreading tree up to 60 feet tall if grown separately.

* Acorns are an important source of food for rodents, birds, and larger animals.

* Fire prone, but will re-sprout afterwards.

* Important cover for many animals.
