Kestrel
  Falco sparverius

* Possibly the most colorful raptor in the world.

* Female is larger and has a barred russet and brown back, coverts, and secondary feathers. The male has blue-gray secondaries and a russet back with black spots.

* Commonly seen hovering next to freeways looking for mice.
