* Flute-like song spiraling upward. The only woodland thrush whose song rises in pitch.

* Prefers coniferous forests, but can be found in riparian habitats such as the dense dogwoods and cottonwoods deep in Corner Canyon.

* Forages near ground, occasionally flycatches and follows ant swarms. Fruits are important during migration.
